Frequently asked questions

Prince & Princess Program: your questions answered

When and where is the 2026 Prince & Princess Program?

Saturday, December 5, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt Seattle in Seattle, Washington.

What ages can take part?

The Prince and Princess programs are for children aged 3 to 12. The Pre-Teen category, for ages 11 to 12, includes competition as part of the pageant.

Is it a competition?

No. The Prince and Princess programs are not a competition: every child walks the stage and is crowned and given a sash as a young ambassador of humanity, peace and giving back. Only the Pre-Teen category includes competition.

How much does it cost, and what is included?

Prince or Princess is $300 and Pre-Teen is $555, paid securely by card through Square when you register. The fee / donation covers one to two training sessions, refreshments, a kids' swag bag, the sash and crown, and your child's event ticket. Parents buy their own tickets. It is non-refundable.

Can children from outside Seattle take part?

Yes. Titles are given for each child's own city, county, state or country — for example, Princess of Redmond WA — on a first-come, first-served basis. The event itself is held in Seattle.

Where does the money go?

The program is a fundraiser of AmPowering, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by volunteers. Proceeds help feed nutritious meals to 700 kids daily.

What should my child wear?

A formal evening gown or frock for princesses, and a tuxedo or formal pants and shirt for princes.
